• D. McDonald Racing is based on the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation located on the border of New York State, Ontario and Quebec. Akwesasne is the only Native Nation in North America that borders two countries, one state and two provinces. Because of the geographic location D. McDonald Racing is an international race enterprise which is unique in the fact that the owner is a woman of Mohawk descent who proudly represents the Mohawk community of Akwesasne in the local race circuit both in the US and Canada.
  • D. McDonald Racing is owned by Dr. Rose-Alma (Dolly) McDonald. She is an entrepreneur of over 25 years as a writer, consultant and advocate for First Nations and Aboriginal rights. She is well known nationally and internationally for her advocacy efforts. As part of her Akwesasne roots and through her travels internationally she became interested in racing several years ago through a chance meeting at a convention with NASCAR recruiters in Albuquerque, NM where they were recruiting to train Native American race car drivers. Through that introduction Dr. Dolly became interested in the business of racing. She learned a lot about marketing, sponsorships and the financial aspect of racing from the recruiters she met.
Dolly McDonald attended races at the Mohawk International Raceway since 2006 as a spectator and supporter of Lonewolf Racing: Eugene and Claudia Tarbell. By chance in May 2012 she saw a race car that she couldn’t pass up. She had the opportunity to test drive, then purchase the car which solidified and personified the love she has for racing.
  • The D. McDonald Racing team began its’ first racing season in May 2012 in the local dirt car racing circuit at Mohawk International Raceway, Frogtown, NY. Number 22M is a Bicknell Sportsman Modified. The driver for D. McDonald Racing, Scott Mere, has 14 years racing experience. He started his race career in 2000 in the bandit class, moved up to semi-pro in 2003, and to the 358 modified class in 2006, in 2011-2012 he raced mod-light and since 2013 he has l been driving sportsman class for D.
